Philanthropy In/Sight was specifically designed as a tool to help inform the work of grantmakers. By visualizing data, funders can enhance their effectiveness, make better funding decisions, and increase their impact on society.
In/Sight utilizes data from 90,000 foundations, 150,000 grantee organizations, and 1.6 million grants made during 2003-2009, including U.S. foundation grants made internationally. Grants can also be plotted against a variety of demographic information and on a number of geographic levels (e.g., congressional district). Choosing from a wide range of customization options, you can quickly create maps that reveal patterns of giving and funding relationships.
As a special benefit, we are pleased to offer DVG members access to Philanthropy In/Sight™, the Foundation Center’s powerful interactive mapping tool that combines its own rich data on grantmakers and their grants with familiar Google maps to tell the story of philanthropy.
