Community Foundations for Pennsylvania fosters philanthropy by maximizing the collective capabilities of its members and others to strengthen Pennsylvania's communities.
Delaware Valley Grantmakers is the philanthropic resource for grantmakers who give in greater Philadelphia and neighboring regions. DVG is committed to providing members with networking, knowledge and professional development opportunities that meet member needs and add critical value to their work. DVG also acts as a leader in the regional philanthropic community by: informing the media, the business community and legislators on the role and value of philanthropy; encouraging cooperation between grantmakers and the nonprofit community; and serving as a resource for new givers. Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania promotes excellence in philanthropy. It does this by:
  • Providing research, information, and education that foster a community of well- informed grantmakers;
  • Offering professional education and developing philanthropic tools that enhance grantmaking skills and practice;
  • Connecting grantmakers in ways that promote learning, exchange, and collaboration;
  • Documenting and communicating western Pennsylvania's status and long tradition of philanthropic giving;
  • Creating learning opportunities for nonprofits that will enhance their performance and effectiveness.
