Finalists have been announced for the Knight Arts Challenge Philadelphia, a city-wide contest seeking the best idea for use of art.
The contest is sponsored by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. The goal of the three-year, $9 million contest is to enrich Philadelphia's communities through art.
In the first year, Knight Foundation awarded $2.7 million to 36 winners, from, "individual artists and artist-driven organizations to some of the city's premier cultural institutions."
